So, it's Easter Sunday. Named after a pagan goddess, determined by both the Solar and Lunar Calenders – the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox, specifically. Inextricably linked with the Jewish holiday of Pesach, itself a lunar holiday, being that the Jewish Calender is Lunar, not Solar.

And clearly, in the spiritual tradition of all Vernal holidays, pagan or otherwise; the return of Life to the world. The eternal cycle of Life-Death-Rebirth, of which, of course, the egg is the primary symbol. Just as anybody who has uttered or even heard the phrase “Fucks like a bunny” is aware of the rabbit as a fertility symbol. Hop. Hop. Hop.

There's a story about Eostre turning a wounded bird into a bunny. Presumably one that laid eggs. Pesach is about God killing all the first borns except the ones in secretly marked houses. And Easter is about God's Son being nailed up and left to die, only to rise again. I think I like the bird-into-bunny story better.
